Preschool Extension Program - PEP
We are very happy to be able to offer an Extension Program for our parents/caregivers who need care for their preschoolers when they are not in regular preschool session Monday through Friday.
Our Preschool Extension Program (PEP) coincides with our preschool calendar and runs from early September (on the first day of preschool) through mid-May (the last day of 4-year-old preschool). For the 2010 - 2011 school year, we have decided to remain open full days for the remainder of the school year. The hours of the program begin at 8:15AM or 8:45AM (depending on your need) and conclude at the end of the school day at 3:15PM.
The day has two sessions. The AM Session runs from 8:15AM (8:45AM) until 11:50AM. The PM Session runs from 11:50AM until 3:15PM. We also offer a full day session for the days your child is not in attendance for preschool beginning at 8:15AM (8:45AM) until 3:15PM. PEP children will always be picked up and dropped off in the cafeteria at the north east door at the front of the school at the designated times.
Fees
The fees for the sessions are as follows:
- Half day sessions (AM or PM) $12.00
- Full day session $24.00
There is a $20.00 snack fee per child for the year. Milk or juice will be provided with snack.
Prepayment is expected on Mondays or Tuesdays for the week (depending on your child’s first day of the week in attendance at PEP). If you choose to pay monthly, your payment is due on the first weekday of the month. There are no refunds.
Lunch
Students have lunch in the PEP room from 12:00 – 12:30PM. We ask that you pack a healthy lunch with a drink for your child. Our PEP classroom must be peanut/nut-free.
Early Dismissal
On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, the school has early dismissal at 1:30PM. You may pick up your child/children at 1:30PM or at 3:15PM since PEP will run a regular PM session until 3:15PM. For those PM preschool children needing to return to PEP from 1:30 – 3:15PM, there will be a $6.00 fee.
Supplies
Please provide the following for your child
- A blanket and pillow for naptime (must fit into small cubby)
- A complete change of clothes, underwear and socks
- 1 box of tissues
- 1 package of napkins
- 2 rolls of paper towels
The Extended Care Program
Preschoolers enrolled in AM Extended Care are picked up by the PEP aide at 8:15AM. Preschoolers enrolled in PM Extended Care are taken to the Extended Care program after 3:15PM.
Extended Care Program Charges
- AM Program - $4.00/preschool child/day from 7:00AM – 8:15AM; $3.00 from 7:30 – 8:15AM
- PM Program - $5.00 from 3:30 – 5:30PM
These charges are separate from the Kindergarten through eighth grade student Extended Care charges and are necessary due to the need for an extra person to take care of the preschoolers.
